Happy Earth Day!

April 22nd, 2008

In honor of the Earth, I’ve put together a limerick about her:

There once was a planet called Earth,
Who –

Aw crap, wait, server issue.

Recapping the latest updates

April 16th, 2008

This blog feels somewhat neglected, so I should probably post something here to… I don’t know, please the blog Gods? I’ll recap updates to the site since last posting, since many updates we post in the site’s bulletins for members. They rarely read this blog anyway.

-Fixed Yahoo! marking mail as spam.
-Added photo sharing capabilities
-Enabled commenting on articles
-Adding flagging for inappropriate Rehashes
-Search added in the Forest
-Press section up
-Allowing deletion of profile comments
-Bulk delete mail/trades option added
-Viewing re-listed Rehashes (offers that were later declined, thus re-listing items in older positions)
-Linking to other social network profiles
-Searching through users with Karma
-Server speed boosts
-Good times indeed

We’re working on oh-so-much-more to be released very soon. In other news, Earth Day aka the Earth’s birthday (hah) is coming up. Boy, do we love Earth or WHAT?

Damn you Daily Candy!

March 13th, 2008

All these Daily Candy users have brought Rehash down to its knees!

OK, not really, but it’s nice to see our server having to work hard for a change. Daily Candy, a site all about the latest in fashion, food, and fun, has featured us in their Weekend Guide. It’s an honor, and a heck of a boost in our user base. Our membership count has increased so far by 75% since this morning.

Hopefully this kind of press goes viral, because while Stumbleupon has fared us well, this is much better.

Blog back up

March 12th, 2008

The blog was down for a bit due to some neglecting. It’s back now, obviously.

Galleries are in

February 10th, 2008

We’ve released the first step in the new galleries. Every user can now create albums and upload images to those albums. In the next few days we’ll release the rest of the features which include creating wish lists, creating outfits (by yourself or with other Rehashers), and commenting.

Watch lists are coming soon as well.

Patches and cream

February 1st, 2008

We’ve been doing some housekeeping with the server. Some of you may have noticed a little bit of a speed increase with the site loading, some of you may not. It doesn’t matter what you noticed, we maintain that everything is a little faster.

Oh, also, you can rate people you’ve traded with. We’ve got a rudimentary setup in place (you can view a person’s karma by going to http://rehashclothes.com/karma/their_screen_name) for now until we finish testing out the polished up ultra leet awesomeness championship guaranteed winner ultimate pimpness version USA.

Keep telling your friends, there sure are lots of new Rehashes and Rehashers popping up every day.

“You’re a jerk, here’s why”

January 22nd, 2008

We decided to allow Rehashers to judge the shit out of other Rehashers. Other sites call this “feedback” or “ratings”, but let’s be real, it’s all about judging the shit out of people. We would like to allow that for the, uh, “protection” of others.

If you’re a terrible trader, the world will know. This feature mostly complete, just going through a few rounds of tweaking and internal testing. Give it, oh, two or three days?

Server downtime

January 21st, 2008

We were doing some maintenance from around 3 EST to 7:30 EST. It’s back to stability now, however tomorrow we will be doing some more maintenance again (apparently in honor of Dr. Martin Luthor King Jr.) so keep that in mind.

Most of the fixes were to registrations, logins, and logouts. Some of you who registered as that was happening were sent an email with your credentials and letting you know the server restored your registration info. Others of you were not so lucky, but it’s OK, you can just do it again.

Sorry for the inconvenience of bringing down a site that offers you a free service ;-)

Gmail is great, Yahoo and Hotmail are not.

January 17th, 2008

As I anticipated a good month and a half ago, Yahoo! and Hotmail don’t seem to like emails sent from our server. Our server is fine, and it’s really only Yawhore! and Hotfail that treat our e-mails as if we’re selling penis pills and debt consolidation loans. Sure, I may or may not have solid dick tablets door-to-door to pay my way through college, but never by email. Honest!

This will be fixed, I’ll make sure of it, but even so, Gmail is so much better.

Where are my notifications?!

January 12th, 2008

Some of you, mainly Yahoo! and Hotmail users, are noticing a lack of notification emails. We’re working on fixing that, don’t worry. Yahoo! users are receiving their mail in their spam folders while Hotmail users aren’t receiving them at all. Gmail likes us, but Google’s whorish tendencies tend to like everyone. Bless them for that.

Just give it a few days while we tinker with stuff.
